I love my crockpot especially the last few months it is used every Sunday so when we come home from church we have a nice meal waiting with no prep. I do all the prep the night before and we are having fun finding new favorites to try on that day!
But I love Brownies as well absolutly love homemade brownies. So when I found this recipe and it involved 2 of my favorite things I had to try it.
I found it a few years ago in Family Fun Mag and it is so rich it is a once in a while thing but each time I have made it for Ice Cream Socials or guests they rave on and on about it.
Here goes...
1 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
6 Tbsp butter
2 ounces semi sweet choc or 1/3 c choc chips
2/3 plus 1/3 c sugar
3 Tbsp plus 1/3 c cocoa
1 Tbsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 c milk
1 egg yolk
1/3 brown sugar
1 1/2 c hot water
whipped cream or ice cream for later
in your crockpot spray with cooking spray whisk flour and baking powder in bowl set aside. Melt butter and choc together in micro or on stove top. Whisk in 2/3 cup sugar, 3Tbsp of cocoa, vanilla, salt, milk, and egg yolk. Add flour mixture and mix thoroughly. Pour into crockpot and spread evenly. In medium bowl whisk together remaining sugar, cocoa, brown sugar and hot water. Stir till sugar is dissolved slowly pour over batter in crockpot. Cook on high or 1 1/4 to 2 1/4 hours. I usually do it for an hour in my crockpot it runs hot I think and my cooking times seem to be less. It will pull away from the sides and smell absolutely sinful.
The brownie will be moist and floating on a layer of molten chocolate. When its done take off the lid and let cool or 25 minutes serve with ice cream or whipped cream. Ice Cream is a lot better though :0). I don't remember actually letting it cool for 25 minutes though and it is still very good and awesome!
I am thinking of getting another Crockpot so I will have 2 I have a medium would you suggest a large one or a small one. I could use both on sundays for hot side dishes as well as the main one. We mostly do salads now with bread.

That recipe sounds great! I'll have to try it. I'm just starting to get hooked to my crockpot. I have two, a medium one and a larger oval sized one. I would highly sugest getting the larger one. One thing that I like to do with it is make larger portions than what we can eat and then freeze some for another day when I don't have as much time to cook. It's worked out well for us.
"floating on a layer of molten chocolate" I was just fussing about not getting my chocolate fix and here you are to save the day! :)
I've heard of people using 3 crock pots for one meal, wish I was that organized and enthusiastic.
