I love roasted garlic hummus. And I have been buying it but with my quest this year and my major want to make everything I can from scratch I wanted to learn to make this treat and great sandwich spread.
Well my plain hummus was good but I wanted roasted garlic. So I learned how to roast garlic
First I bought nice big garlic bulbs in the produce section of the grocery store. I didn't buy the ones in the little boxes that have 2. I bought the ones that sell by the pound.
You pull off as many as you want to roast but don't peel. Then coat the pan with a light coat of olive oil and coat the garlic with oil as well. I used a little paint brush that I use for this kinda of thing.
Heat your oven to 400 and cook these wonderful delights for 15 minutes. They pop out of their skins after they cool. I peel them and store them in my fridge for up to a week. Or use them right away
I love this and it is so easy. So when I grow my own garlic I can mince it myself and now roast it as well!
